About the Event

March 7 | Roots & Shoots: Salt Creek & Booker Creek Stories

Watershed Learning, Cleanup & Macro Plastics Art

This Roots & Shoots–aligned experience centers on local waterways and community stories. Participants begin with a Watergoat cleanup at Salt Creek in Bartlett Park, learning how stormwater systems move trash from neighborhoods into creeks and bays.

The group then transitions to Harborage Marina on Booker Creek, where students create macro plastics artworkusing recovered materials. Along the way, participants learn about the history, ecology, and stories of Salt Creek and Booker Creek, exploring how waterways shape neighborhoods and how art can be used to tell those stories.

Be a part of the solution and stop marine debris before it gets waterlogged and degrades into micro-plastics. Sign up to clean the Bartlett Park Watergoat today.
