St. Pete Ocean Sweep 2021 Recycled Art Contest Application

Register online no later than June 1, 2021 by 5 pm. Then go to Pollunit and click on Add Photo to upload your art for voting. Questions contact: Jenna Byrne at stpeteoceansweep@gmail.com. Please call 727-303-9987 with any questions.

In Person and Virtual contest awards reception will be held on Sunday June 6, 2021 at 6:00 PM. Please see contest guidelines for more information.

St. Pete Ocean Sweep Recycled Art Contest Guidelines:

- Any individual may participate. Youth (18 and under)

- Registration opens March 1, 2021

- Participants must register by June 1, 2021 5 pm in order to submit an art piece.

- Participants may register as an individual or a group.

- Entries must contain 100% recycled, recovered or found content with the exception of paints, dyes, adhesives, canvas and mounting hardware.

- Entries may contain any recycled material as art medium, with the exception of food matter.

- Participants may include an artist statement with their piece, but it is not required.

- Entry dimension limits will be announced. Entries must be ready to display by wall mount, plinth, free standing – etc.

- Entries must be suitable for general public viewing with no offensive language or images.

- Entries must credit the original artist in the case of a reproduction.

- Participants acknowledge that Byrne Ocean Conservation may photograph or reproduce images of the artwork and the artist retains no ownership rights to the photos or reproductions from that completed image.

- Title of artwork, name(s) of artist(s) and medium used must be submitted to Jenna Byrne at stpeteoceansweep@gmail.com by June 1, 2021. Artist statements, if applicable, must also be submitted at this time. A Community Online vote for the finalists starts June 1, 2021 at 5 pm. One vote per Participants have to decide for one option. If they assign another vote, the previous one is removed

- Finalists will be on display at Spa Beach Park at the new Pier in downtown St. Pete from June 5 - 6, 2021. Public votes for the winners in person and online June 5 - 6, 2021 from 9 am Saturday - 5 pm Sunday. In Person and Virtual award reception will be Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 6:00 PM.

- Prizes for multiple categories awarded to both Adults and Youth

 - Entries must be completed and then go to Pollunit and upload you art by June 1, 2021 5 pm to be uploaded online for the voting.
