About the Event

Beneath the Surface: Community Art Project

Join fellow Water Warriors in creating our fall community art installation, “Beneath the Surface”, featuring a scarecrow-style figure named Lumens.

Lumens will be stuffed with dried invasive plants and debris to shine a light on water quality issues in our community. Each part of Lumens will represent hidden struggles beneath the surface of our environment—stormwater runoff, sewage and wastewater, plastic pollution, Styrofoam, discarded fishing line, marine debris, and invasive species. Built in honor of Captain Jason Stock, Lumens embodies both the challenges we face and our commitment to solutions.

🌿 How you can help: Please bring dried invasive plants or debris that could help bring Lumens to life.

🥤 Refreshments provided at our Build Night on Thursday, September 26.
