Ocean Aid 360’s Ghost Trap Rodeo

Byrne Ocean Conservation is putting together a team of Water Warriors to be stationed at Gandy Boat Ramp. 

Do you have a boat or just want to be a part of the solution? 

Join us Saturday July 17, 2021. We will have a table/tent at Gandy Boat Ramp.  Traps can be accesed from the shoreline but we invite all Water Warriors to bring their vessels to patrol Gandy's waterways for traps.

Thanks to partners at FWC we will be operatiing this clean up during the 10-day trap fishing closure. This window of opportunity allows us to remove any trap found in the watershed that may have been moved during a storm, had it's buoy cut off by a boat or has been abandoned by it's angler.

They're excited to be partnering with Tampa Bay Watch, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Coastal Conservation Association and Coastal Impact Fund to make this multi-location search a success!
