Gator Jim’s Tarpon Tournament

Come and check us out at the First Annual Gator Jim’s Bait and Tackle Tarpon Tournament.

This is a brand-new Tarpon tournament to get friends and family together for a fun competitive day of fishing. This tournament is to encourage youths to fish and youth relatives to take a kid Tarpon fishing.

When: July 31st 6:00am-4:00pm. Lines in at 6am out at 4pm.

Captains meeting: July 30th 5PM (Outside area of Gator Jim’s tackle). *Must

attend

BBQ Weigh in: August 1st noon (Outside area of Gator Jim’s tackle). Payout and prizes.

Jr’s-

Kid’s Free, ages 14 and under (Jr, div)

Ages 15 and up 100 dollars (overall, div)

Note: All entry fee money must be paid in cash.

1st Trophy plus Gator Jim’s Prize Pack.

2nd and 3rd Gator Jim’s Prize Pack.

Overall- 1st Trophy plus 50% cash payout 2nd 30% cash Payout

3rd 20% cash Payout

Register in person at Gator Jim’s Thursday-Sun from 8am to 5pm. Cash money only for registration. Ask for Tom.

All entries must be in by 6 Pm, July 30th and you must attend captain meeting to receive a card that must be in photo release on Saturday.

Boundaries: No fishing north or south of these two locations. North, Anclote key. South, Longboat key.

Rules:

*Lines in at 6am Lines out at 4pm

*Boats only, 8 rods max. 10-foot leader max.

*Must have a witness, all prizes and places are subject to polygraph testing. Any violations of rules are automatic disqualification for angler and witness.

* You must Take photo of each Tarpon caught using your camera phone. The cards provided at captains meeting must also be in photo. Then you must call number provided to report time of release (you must call within 10 mins of fish release).

*Angler must fight fish from time Tarpon strikes till the fish is boat side under control. No other angler or person should touch rod or line during the fight till fish is within leader touch.

* Once Tarpon is boat side you can take a photo of the fish under control with card provided at captains meeting. You MUST have leader or Tarpons mouth in your hand for it to be an official release. ALSO, the card provided must be visible in picture with fish.

* All tarpon must be at least 48 inches to qualify. * All tarpon must swim away unharmed. *Tiebreakers go to the fish that was released first Official release:

Official release deadline is 4pm July 31st. No releases will be accepted after 4pm Officials have reviewed all data to verify each release.
