SUPPORT THE GULF OF MEXICO

Soil and Sediment Sampling Project

The increased levels of heavy metal concentration show the necessity for the monitoring of near toxic levels of heavy metal in Gulf Marine life. Shipping via waterway plays a significant role in the United States as well as International Shipping. Pinellas, Hillsborough and Manatee County have the largest Concentration of Shipping in Central Florida. Florida caters to over 200 Million Tourists Annually, which flock to our gorgeous Inter-coastal Waterways in need of preservation. Hard Bottom Paints, and human waste have the highest concentration around high populated areas, especially waterways where mass transportation of goods internationally is being conducted via the inter-coital waterways.

Appropriate dive equipment and operating equipment for Byrne Ocean Conservation is essential to accurately collect Samples in Pinellas County Florida inland waterways. Donations will cover the dive equipment and operating equipment, necessary to operate Byrne Ocean Conservation’s research trips in a safe effective manner.

The goal of Byrne Ocean Conservation is to establish a research team to collect data, and spread awareness on the heavy metal content of benthic fish and sea grass to determine the possible health contaminants to Florida residents and tourists. The research provided by Byrne Ocean Conservation will offer data to monitor the heavy metal content of the species, sediment and water surrounding the large supply of seafood acquired from the Gulf of Mexico.

Our Mission is to conduct scientific research and hosts educational programs aimed at conserving the local marine species of the benthic layer from seagrass to Mangrove snapper, blue crab, mud crab, flounder, scallops, without these and many other inland Marine wildlife species, our oceans would be aquatic desserts. The BOC will help ensure that future generations can enjoy and benefit from a naturally balanced ocean ecosystem.
